At age 12, a bike accident left me with a severe concussion and a traumatic neck injury. For years afterward, I struggled with recurring illnesses (especially in winter), learning disabilities, and persistent headaches—all late effects of post-concussive syndrome. In my teens and twenties, I sought out many medical specialists, but not one addressed that severe injury or its lasting impact on my health. I even had to take two medical withdrawals from college: once for Epstein-Barr Virus and again for strep throat.
Everything changed the day of my first chiropractic adjustment. It was the dead of winter. I had a bad cold that had turned into strep throat again—I could barely swallow or speak. The chiropractor adjusted me anyway. That night, I broke into a sweaty fever that spiked at 104°F. When I woke in the morning, my cold and strep throat were gone. I could swallow. I could talk. I felt good.
That overnight recovery was like a revelation. I needed to understand how chiropractic worked and study everything I could to support self-healing. I made it my mission to deliver the best chiropractic practice that I could.
I began training in Craniosacral Therapy and Network Chiropractic / Network Spinal Analysis in 1993 while studying at Life University, where I earned my Doctor of
Chiropractic (DC) in 1995. My postgraduate certifications include: Total Body Modification (Questor, 1998), Acupuncture (FASA, 2001), Network Chiropractic /
Network Spinal Analysis (1996, 2002), and Biological Terrain Management (2004).
I served as Director of Alternative Medicine at Natural Horizons (Fairfax, VA, 2005–2006) and published two patient case histories in EXPLORE! For The Professional (June, 2006) from that time. During the pandemic lockdowns (2020–2021), I took employment as an essential healthcare worker at The Joint Chiropractic to reduce hospital demand with chiropractic care. I completed the Upledger Institute’s Craniosacral Therapy basic curriculum in 2025 and began repeating it in 2026 to prepare for advanced certification testing.
After thirty years of practice, I am glad to say I love what I do more and more—because I get to powerfully help people.
